Symphony is new, it's different, and it's normal to want to understand. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions.

General
When you sign up, you tell us your dietary preferences, allergies, diet, and nutrition goals. We then compose a made-to-measure selection of meals for you, customizable down to the gram. Your meals arrive frozen at home, ready in 6 minutes in the microwave. Each week, your feedback helps us refine your menus to fit your tastes and needs better and better.
For anyone who wants to eat well without spending their evenings on it: entrepreneurs, freelancers, overwhelmed parents, athletes, or simply people who don't have time to cook every day. Our delivery service adapts to your rhythm and constraints, with no compromise on quality.
We handle deliveries ourselves across Paris (all arrondissements) and around twenty communes in Île-de-France. Within this area, we guarantee timing and quality at every step: preparation, cold chain, delivery. You can check your eligibility on the interactive map.
Outside Île-de-France, delivery via Chronofresh (Chronopost) is available on request, in temperature-controlled transport at no extra cost. To be transparent: we don't control this part of the chain, and service quality can vary. If delivery reliability is essential for you, we recommend waiting for direct delivery to open in your area. Otherwise, contact us to discuss your request.
Personalization
When you sign up, you fill in your dietary preferences: ingredients you like or want to avoid, diet, allergies, and nutritional goals. Our engine combines nutritional algorithms with an AI model that learns from your feedback week after week.
Yes. As long as your order hasn't been confirmed, you can freely adjust your menu: swap meals, remove them, or request a new selection.
Yes. The allergens you declare when signing up are automatically excluded as ingredients in your menus, and the full list of allergens present is shown on every delivered meal.
Our teams are HACCP-trained, which includes cross-contamination prevention. However, our meals are prepared in a workshop where other allergens are also handled. We therefore cannot guarantee a complete absence of error or contamination.
Anytime. Your preferences can be edited from your personal account, and changes are taken into account starting with the next menu.
Delivery
You choose your own frequency: no imposed rhythm, no restrictive subscription. In practice, a weekly delivery is the simplest format to organize, but you stay in control of the schedule.
By our own team, in a zero-plastic insulated box we designed in-house. Our driver leaves your package on your landing without bothering you: no need to be home, no need to wait for a specific delivery window. Thanks to dry ice, the cold chain is guaranteed until midnight. You retrieve your package whenever it suits you.
Our drivers are all permanent employees, trained in our processes and committed for the long haul. For buildings with intercoms, your access code remains confidential and is used only for dropping off your package.
You can throw it away or leave it in front of your door for us to collect. It's your choice.
To return it, leave it in front of your door the evening before your next delivery. Our driver will pick it up while dropping off the new one, and €2 will be deducted from your next order. To help you remember, you'll get an SMS the evening before.
Returned packages are cleaned, checked, and reused. That's what lets the packaging serve multiple deliveries instead of being thrown away after just one.
Delivery is free in the vast majority of cases, depending on your delivery method and the size of your order:
- Doorstep drop-off (Île-de-France): free from €40 of orders (otherwise €10)
- Hand delivery (Île-de-France): free from €50 of orders (otherwise €15)
- Chronofresh delivery (outside Île-de-France): free from €55 of orders (otherwise €20)
- Symphony smart freezer at the office or school: free, no minimum order
Yes. You pick your delivery day with each order, Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Once the order is confirmed, you can still push it back from your personal account until 4 PM on the business day before delivery, but no longer move it earlier.
Nothing. The insulated box keeps your meals frozen until midnight. It waits patiently in front of your door until you get back.
Despite thousands of deliveries, it has never happened. I guess thieves aren't fans of healthy frozen meals!
Either way, delivery is our responsibility. If there's a problem, we'll redeliver at our expense. For direct delivery in Île-de-France, let us know before 4 PM and we'll redeliver the next day. For Chronofresh delivery, we'll send a new package as quickly as possible, without being able to guarantee a precise date since we don't control the carrier.
Dry ice is used to maintain the cold chain during delivery. Inside the package, you'll find a block wrapped in honeycomb kraft paper. A few precautions to know when handling it.
Avoid prolonged contact with skin. At -78 °C, dry ice can cause a burn if you hold it between your fingers. Handle it with a cloth or gloves, and keep it out of reach of children.
Let it sublimate in a ventilated area. Unlike regular ice, it doesn't melt into water: it goes directly to gas (CO₂). A 1 kg block typically takes between 8 and 24 hours to disappear completely. During that time, prefer a balcony, a window ledge, or a ventilated room. Avoid confined spaces with no ventilation: cellar, bin room, small bathroom.
Don't throw it in the trash until it has fully sublimated, and avoid pouring it into the sink or toilet.
Quality & Storage
Most of our ingredients come from France, the rest from Europe. A few exceptions for products that don't exist in France or Europe (avocados, certain spices, shiitake…), or for a few must-have foreign specialties.
Every ingredient goes through an internal quality check based on a detailed technical sheet (origin, composition, processing, certifications). We exclude products whose processing method doesn't meet our standards, along with those that contain unnecessary additions: cooking oil, added salt, additives of any kind. When several options are available, we systematically choose the best one, regardless of cost.
This standard sometimes leads us to exclude common products: that's the case, for example, with broccoli florets. No reference available today meets our criteria. Broccoli purée, on the other hand, is in the catalog.
Contrary to popular belief, deep freezing is the best food preservation method known today. Performed in the hours after harvest or cooking, it locks food at its peak of freshness and preserves nutrients, textures, and flavors without resorting to any preservative. In contrast, a “fresh” product has often traveled several days by truck and then in cold storage, waited on shelves, and lost part of its nutritional value before even reaching your plate (not to mention unsold goods that end up in the trash).
Not to be confused with home freezing: deep freezing happens at around -40 °C, forming microcrystals that preserve the cellular structure of food (and therefore the textures and flavors once cooked). Standard freezing at -18 °C, on the other hand, forms larger crystals that damage fibers: that's what explains the often soggy look of food frozen at home.
Finally, it's a real practical advantage: your meals keep for several months, you take them out at your own rhythm, and nothing ends up in the trash because you didn't have time to cook this week.
Technically, several months in the freezer. Each meal carries its own best-before date, printed on the packaging. In practice, we recommend eating them within the weeks following delivery: repeatedly opening and closing the freezer eventually causes frost to form and compacts the pouches, which makes serving less convenient and slightly alters the texture of the ingredients.
- Empty the pouch into a deep bowl or plate and cover.
- Microwave at full power, without defrosting first, for the time printed on the pouch.
- Stir well (really well).
- Enjoy with a spoon!
A few explanations, for the curious: in a flat plate, the microwave burns the edges while the center stays cold. A deep dish heats evenly everywhere. Covering retains the steam and prevents the dish from drying out. Microwaves don't heat uniformly, and not every ingredient is spread evenly in the pouch: stirring thoroughly guarantees a uniform temperature and flavor in every bite. And since all of our ingredients are pre-cut into small pieces, a spoon is simply more practical than a fork.
Pricing & Subscription
Between €4 and €11, delivery included, depending on your profile, dietary preferences, and quantities. For a vegan woman with a small appetite, expect around €4–5 per meal (360 g, 25 g protein, 525 kcal per meal); for a tall, very athletic man eating lots of animal protein, it climbs to €10–11 (650 g, 50 g protein, 950 kcal per meal). It's up to you to find your place between these two extremes.
It's a complete “meal-in-one”: no need to add a starter, a dessert, or anything else on the side. Our customers report that a single Symphony meal keeps them full for hours. No cravings, no snacking, no last-minute grocery runs.
You pay by the gram, ingredient by ingredient. Everything else (concierge service, delivery, loan of a freezer if needed) is included. It's like having a personal chef who knows exactly your tastes, your needs, and your goals. Except they're not in the way, and you don't have to deal with groceries, cooking, or cleanup.
No. The subscription has no commitment: you can pause or cancel whenever you want.
Payment is made by credit card.
Yes. We offer dedicated plans for businesses. Contact us for a proposal tailored to your team.
Commitments
No one at Symphony is on minimum wage. All of our employees are paid above the legal minimum, and any minimum wage increases are automatically passed on to maintain that gap.
The result is visible every day: a stable team, proud of its work and aware of why it's here. It's also what guarantees you the same quality of service, week after week.
Yes, all of them. No subcontracting, no platform-based gig work.
It's a demanding choice that goes against current industry practice, but it's what lets us keep our quality promise. A stable team, trained in our processes and committed for the long haul, is the only way to guarantee real seriousness at every step, from ingredient quality control to dropping your package on your landing.
Because we decided it was possible, and no economic argument justified doing otherwise.
Our insulated package, designed in-house after we failed to find an equivalent on the market, is a cardboard box whose insulation is made of a mix of recycled cotton, linen, and hemp. A sheet of tissue paper separates the pouches for hygiene. No plastic, no gel pack, no usual ice block: the cold chain until midnight is held by dry ice alone.
The meals themselves are packaged in recyclable kraft pouches, not in plastic. It's our way of reducing as much as possible the amount of packaging that arrives at your door.
We prioritize ingredients sourced in France and Europe, and we optimize our delivery routes thanks to in-house logistics. Frozen food also limits food waste, which helps reduce the overall impact.
Frozen food is a key lever: the meals keep for a long time, you eat them at your own rhythm, and you throw less away. On the production side, we prepare to order to avoid surplus and losses.
